Feeding the Bees

The cold today kept the bees from being as active as they have been
during the past week's warm-up. I took the opportunity to mix up some
1:1 sugar syrup to start feed the bees. These feeders are placed at
the hive entrance and allow the bees to gain access to the syrup
without venturing out of the hive. I increased the opening from the
small winter opening of a half inch to about one and a half to two
inch opening for spring.
